At approximately 7:15 p.m. EDT, police, fire, and rescue personnel arrived at Sparetime Recreation, a family restaurant and bowling alley, after a report of an active shooter.

The Central Maine Medical Center began coordinating with local area hospitals to take in victims.

Several victims were taken to Maine Medical Center, the state’s largest medical center; the hospital is on lockdown.

A shelter-in-place order was put into effect in Lewiston, and schools were put on lockdown.

Auburn issued its own shelter-in-place order and another order for businesses to lock down.

The Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston said it was coordinating with area hospitals to receive patients in response to a “mass casualty, mass shooter event.”

Classes at Central Maine Community College and schools in the Lewiston Public Schools district will be canceled for October 26 in response to the shooting.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are assisting local authorities.

“The friend referred to him as “Sargent Rob” and congratulated him on “20 years.” He asked, “Anyone left from the original 947th/439th? We will have to catch up sometime for a beer, it’s been about 11 years.”

Card’s Facebook page described him as living in Bowdoin, Maine, and public records gave him as 40.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office released a photo of the suspect. “Law enforcement in Androscoggin County are investigating two active shooter events. We are encouraging all businesses to lock down and or close while we investigate. The suspect is still at large,” the Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook.
