It is not known what exactly triggered the decision of Mahama’s aide to stop Owusu Bempah from shaking the hands of his boss.

But it is no secret that Owusu Bempah who predicted the win of President Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2016 elections is considered as an NPP sympathiser.

Apart from reiterating his prophecy of Akufo-Addo winning in 2020 on countless occasions, he has constantly declared Mahama a loser in waiting and has also chastised him on many occasions.

With such a history, it is not surprising that Mahama’s aide was quick to stop Owusu Bempah in his tracks even though the former president looked willing to show magnanimity.
