Popular Nollywood actor Pope Junior born Junior Pope Odonwodo has reportedly died after drowning.
The actor and three of his colleagues were coming back from a movie location when they fell into Anam River in Anambra State on Wednesday, April 10 2024.

The President of Actors Guild President, Emeka Rollas also confirmed Pope’s death.
He said “It is true, Junior Pope died today in Asaba in a boat accident.
“We have deposited his corpse in a mortuary in Asaba.
“Four other people were involved but their bodies are yet to be recovered,”.

Similarly, filmmaker, Sam Olatunji announced his death on Wednesday.
“Junior Pope passes on. Sad day for Nollywood.
“Four actors including Jnr Pope fell into Anam River on their way to location and their bodies have been recovered.
“What a sad day for Nollywood. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Multiple sources confirm this sad development to us,” Olatunji wrote on his Instagram page.
The actor is survived by his wife and three children.
Just hours prior to the accident, the actor had shared a video of himself aboard a boat, fervently praying for a safe journey to his destination.
