Sarkodie together with other Netizens drags NDC’s Sammy Gyamfi for insensitive cartoon post

Ghanaians on twitter have descended heavily on NDC Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi for disrespecting the death of George Floyd.

Floyd was killed by Chauvin on Monday, May 25, after the police officer handcuffed and trapped him by pinning him down with his leg on his neck for more than eight minutes.

Following his killing, protesters have stormed streets of the US and other countries in demand for justice for late Floyd.

Sammy Gyamfi in an attempt to discredit the electoral commission and the NPP and prove to Ghanaians the connivance between the NPP and the EC in an attempt to stifle voters in Ghana with the introduction of a new voter register shared a cartoon illustration depicting how floyd was sadly killed.

The said illustration, posted on Sammy’s Twitter page likened the president’s ease of restrictions and the insistence of the EC to compile a new register to circumstances leading to the death of Black American, George Floyd.

Many users of the micro-blogging platform including Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie have found his post an insult to the memory of George Floyd.

Sammy Gyamfi is yet to delete the said post and has rather taken to Facebook in an attempt to justify his vile act.

Sarkodie, reacting to the incident, has offered a word of advice to the young politician, advising him to take down the insensitive post and apologize, instead of trying to explain himself.

Sarkodie tweeted, “Naa my brother we all go wrong sometimes… I will believe your intention wasn’t to joke with this serious n very sensitive issues, but you still wrong just do what’s right…. retract n take it down”
