Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter Osinachi Joseph popularly known as Sinach has become the first African to take the number 1 spot on the Billboard USA Christian songwriters chart.
This feat comes a few months after she welcomed her first child with her husband after being married for 5 years.

The 47-year-old praise and worship singer made this big announcement on her Instagram page revealing that she has been topping the category for the past 7 weeks in a roll now.
Sharing the good news with her over 1 million fans, the “Way Maker” crooner wrote:
“So apparently We have been No 1 on billboard USA for Christian song writer for 7 weeks !! Look at God!! First Black person.

Sinach, is a senior worship leader at Loveworld Ministries (Christ Embassy) and is known for hit songs including `Way Maker,’ `He Did it Again,’ `I know who I Am,’ among others.
The Billboard USA is the music industry standard record chart for songs published weekly by Billboard magazine.
The chart rankings are based on sales (both online and physical), radio play and online streaming.

Other songwriters on the list are Jason Ingram, Matthew West, Lauren Daigle, Chris Brown, Steven Furtick, Jeff Pardo, Paul Mabury, Hank Bentley and Ethan Hulse.
In March 2020, she was awarded a gold plague from YouTube for surpassing 1 million subscribers on the video-sharing platform.
In 2017, Sinach was inducted into the Bethlehem Hall of Fame alongside Dwayne Johnson, Pope Benedict XVI and a host of other internationally recognized celebrities.
