Currently trending on social media is a video of a thief being forced to climb hill with a car engine he was caught allegedly stealing.
It appears the practice of jungle justice is slowing fading away from many African society as people are beginning to embrace more practical and creative ways to punish offenders caught in the act.

A thief was recently caught and rather than apply jungle justice to the situation or hand him over to the police, he was made to put his physical strength to test.
The video which has since gone viral on the internet, shows the thief climbing a hill with the heavy engine put in a wheelbarrow as punishment for stealing.
With his body drenched in a pool of sweat, the mob watched him as he entertained them by trying to push the load up the hill.

The task was too much for him to tackle and the pain on his face spoke volumes about his regrets at stealing.
