Multiple vehicles belonging to staff of the Ghana Airports Company have been reported damaged by falling trees after downpour in Accra.

According to TV3’s reporter at the scene of the incident, about seven vehicles were damaged at the car park of the Ghana Airports Company around the airport during the downpour on Monday, May 6.

Emmanuel Samani reports that one person is currently receiving treatment at the Airport Clinic in Accra due to the sudden incident.

According to an eyewitness account, two huge trees with many trunks fell shortly after a heavy wind during the rainfall on Monday morning.

“We were here this morning exactly five minutes after 8 and the rain started when the wind blew, what we saw was the two trees were falling down. They fell on, I think seven cars, all of which belonged to staff of the Ghana Airports Company,” an eyewitness narrated.

Similar incident is also reported to have occurred at Cantonments near the Italian Embassy. Huge wind during the rainfall caused a tree to fall on a motor rider and an SUV Vehicle.

The motor rider sustained injuries as the tree fell on the lower part of his body and has been transported to the Police Hospital at Osu.

The SUV vehicle on the other hand had its front bumper damaged badly. The driver of the vehicle did not suffer any harm.
