Rev Dr Samuel Amponsah has said, the senior national team of Ghana, Black Stars need a “serious spiritual direction to end it’s 40-years AFCON drought.
According to the founder of christian Word Redemption chapel, the Ghana national team needs spiritual cleansing before it could win a trophy in Africa.
Following the poor performance of the national team at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon, the man of God said “This AFCON, Black Stars need serious spiritual direction.
Revealing why, Rev Dr Samuel Amponsah said: ” The black star has 5 pointed edges, 1. Spirit 2. Air. 3. Fire 4. Earth and 5.Water. But the spirit, fire and earth has been covered’ with clouds and is causing the team’s predicaments” .
According to him, This is a spiritual issue that needs spiritual attention either by the state or the team.
He said ” Stars are very symbolic and spiritually, stars propagate or showcase destinies of people.The 5-edged star represents oneness and unstoppable victory”
“I believe strongly in this reasons for the choice of the 5-edged star by our forefathers. We have from 4-edged to a 12-edged stars for majestic purposes”
“The Ghana national team (Black Btars) will need 1. God’s intervention to unveil the clouds. 2. Team togetherness. 3. Spiritual cleansing 4. Settlement of vows to the gods consulted earlier and 5. Commitment to Ghana.
“I had this revelation in 2014 before the Brazil world cup” He added.
According to him, There are some players who need to be in the team with high spirit to reinforce the team spirit to victory. Like Mohammed polo, Sunday Ibrahim, Christian Astu, Asamoah gyan, to name a few.
This means, they need to do spiritual introspection before selecting players as a criteria.
The president of Logos Ministerial and Leadership Institute , Ghana ( Affiliated to Excellent Theological seminary, south Africa and Cornerstone fellowship international, Atlanta USA concluded :
” If they fail to do that, the Black Stars can even select world’s best 11 to represent the country but will still fail to lift a trophy”
