Who is Sebastian Korda?
Sebastian Korda is a professional Tennis player from the United States. He was born on July 5, 2000, to Tennis player former World no.2 Petr Korda and former women’s top 30 player Regina Rajchrtova.
His father competed in singles and doubles at the French Open and won the Australian Open. Jessica and Nelly, Sebastian’s older sisters, are both LPGA golf pros. Korda began playing competitive junior ice hockey at age 3 and decided to transition to tennis at age 9.
He defeated the 12th seed Cameron Norrie in his Australian Open debut to earn his first victory. He later advanced to the third round of this Major for the first time after defeating Corentin Moutet in the second round of a hard-fought five-set encounter that featured a super tiebreak in the fifth set.

In March, Korda registered for the 2022 Indian Wells Masters. In the second round, Korda met Rafael Nadal after defeating Thanasi Kokkinakis in the first round. Despite serving a breadstick in the second set and having a 5-2 lead in the third set, Korda fell in a tiebreak.
Korda reached his career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 30 on May 2, 2022. He has only won one ATP singles tournament, the Emilia-Romagna Open in 2021. He also won the junior title at the 2018 Australian Open, 20 years after his father, Petr Korda, did.
He recorded his biggest victory of the year at the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters, defeating Carlos Alcaraz, the reigning Miami Open winner, to advance to the third round.
At the 2023 Adelaide International 1, he made it to his fifth ATP final but lost to top seed Novak Djokovic in three sets despite having championship point.
