Nigerian footballer Ifeanyi George & two others killed in ghastly motor accident

It was a dark day for Nigeria football as two players in the books of Enugu Rangers died in a car crash on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

The Super Eagles and Enugu International forward Ifeanyi George was driving with his friend Gabriel Eteka and Rangers B player Emmanuel Ogbu when he ran into a stationary vehicle along the Agbor-Benin expressway.

The three occupants of the car died on the spot according to report by pulse Sports.

Reacting to the sad news, Rangers general manager, Davidson Owumi, said, “We just heard of this disturbing news, we call for prayers in this hour of pains.”

“Ifeanyi George died this morning on his way to Lagos while driving from Enugu, the accident occurred in Abudu just after Agbor in Delta State.

“He had been injured for the past three weeks with a severe waist pain and was told not to drive even in Enugu,” the club said in a statement.

He immediately changed his Twitter profile picture to that of the late star.

Ifeanyi George made his international debut for Nigeria in 2017 against Benin and made two international caps. He was aged 26.
