COVID-19: Nigeria Catholic church presents health facilities as isolation centres.

The Nigeria Catholic Bishop Conference has made a shocking announcement that all its health facilities across the length and width of the country be used as isolation and treatment centres for patients suffering from Covid-19.

The Director of the Catholic Health Secretariat in Nigeria, Emmanuel Okechukwu, made this known officially in an interview with the media that the church has more than 440 heath facilities and they are poised to allow the facilities to be used for testing, isolation and treatment centres.

Nigeria has been wrestling with bed spaces and has appealed to philanthropists, organisations and individuals come to the aid of the country in this hard times where the virus has no respect for anyone.

Mustapha the head of the coronavirus response team in Nigeria has called on state governments to take advantage of the facilities.

Nigeria has 4,641 confirmed cases of coronavirus but there are also general concerns that if there is anything to reduce the spread of this disrespectful virus, then the country has to take advantage of this benevolence to increase its testing capacity. He added.
