Coronavirus: Schools reopened for final year JHS, SHS and university students

President Akufo Addo lifts ban on final year students beginning from the 15th of June 2020. He said the final year students of Junior High School, Senior High School, Universities, and Training Colleges are to go back to the classroom to finish their final examinations.

On his 10th nation’s address on the fight against Covid-19, the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo made these known live on television.

He therefore reminded the general public that, all other classes of students are to remain home and continue their online studies until further notice.

For the final year students who are to go back to school, the JHS3 class should not exceed 30 at a time.

Furthermore, the SHS3 also should not also exceed 25 in a class at a time. Universities should also teach half a class at a time.

The president also ordered schools to be disinfected before the resuming date to ensure the safety of the students as they resume.

The president also eased restrictions on social gathering with conditions attached. No public gathering such as religious activities, political activities and the like should have more than 100 people in attendance at a time. These he believes will help mitigate the spread of the disease in the country.
