Who was Anthony Medina?
Anthony Medina was born in Phoenix, Arizona but moved to Los Angeles, California in his teens and attended South Pointe High School. After graduating in 2010, he worked at Goforth Construction, a job that allowed him to pursue his passion for skateboarding.He also took work at The Berrics, a popular skateboarding and lifestyle company based in Downtown Los Angeles.
In addition to these jobs, Anthony also worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Who was Anthony Medina? A man who had many passions and embraced the opportunities of city life. Whether it was skating down the streets of LA or assisting others through his medical center job, Anthony had a zest for life that impacted everyone he met.

The news of Anthony’s passing in a deadly car accident shook us to the core and has left us with so many unanswered questions – What was the cause of this tragic event? What caused this tragedy to take place on his way back home from work? As we come together in mourning, there are no words to express the sorrow we all feel. We can only honor Anthony’s memory by being kind to one another and actively pursuing our dreams just as he pursued his every day with zest and passion. Although we will never know why this happened, we will remain forever thankful for having known Anthony in life.
Anthony was known for being a great friend to many people in the skateboarding community. American rapper Lil Wayne (@liltunechi) mourned the loss of his “perfect friend” on Twitter, highlighting how much Anthony meant to those around him. He also never ceased to amaze those he encountered with his outstanding skills as a skateboarder – and at such a young age! His passion for skating seemed to know no bounds; he could often be seen mastering new tricks or simply enjoying cruising down the streets of Los Angeles with friends and family.
