Tiger Woods turned professional in 1996, at the age of 20, after an outstanding junior, college, and amateur golf career.

Tiger Woods grew up in Orange County, California. Earl Woods, his athletic father, introduced him to golf when he was only two years old. Earl was a single-digit handicap amateur golfer and one of Kansas State University’s first African-American college baseball players.
