TV icon Paul O’Grady died ‘unexpectedly but peacefully’ at the end of last month leaving friends, family, and fans across the UK in mourning.
Now Paul’s loved ones get to say one last goodbye to the national treasure at his funeral.

When is Paul O’Grady’s funeral? Paul’s funeral will take place today (April 20, 2023). The much-loved entertainer will be laid to rest, after sadly passing away in March 2023.
The funeral procession will take place through the Kent village of Aldington from 2.10pm until 2.45pm. After this a private service and wake will take place.

After the service a celebration of his life will be held at Port Lympe safari park, near where he lived in Kent.
The reserve is home to more than 900 endangered animals and includes a large country house hotel on its grounds. A source speaking to the Mail on Sunday said: “Paul loved Port Lympne.
“He got to know some of its residents very well and it was thought by his nearest and dearest that it would be a beautiful idea to hold his funeral there so they are in attendance, too. “Staff hope they can do him proud.”
The star rose to fame in the 80s and 90s for his character Lily Savage, and later hosted his own talk show.

How did Paul O’Grady’die? Paul died on March 28, 2023, from sudden cardiac arythmia.
Sudden cardiac arrhythmia is when a person has a cardiac arrest and no significant cause could be found. A cardiac arrest is where the heart stops beating completely.
His husband Andre Portasio confirmed the devastating news on March 29, 2023, saying that Paul had died “unexpectedly but peacefully” in his sleep the previous evening.
Paul had a history of ill health. He suffered heart attacks in 2002, 2006 and 2014, as well as developing heart disease.
Who is expected to attend Paul O’Grady’s funeral?
Fans have been invited to line the streets in Aldington – Roman Road, Forge Hill or New Road Hill – as the funeral procession moves through the village.
But the funeral itself is private. Andre said: “While the funeral will be a private ceremony, as many of you know, Paul cared a lot about his local community.
“We have therefore requested that the funeral procession passes through Aldington before heading to the church, as a way of marking Paul’s affection for the area.”
No confirmation has been made about who will attend the private funeral, but it is likely to be family members, including husband Andre, and friends.
The TV star has one daughter, Sharon, who he had with his close friend Diane Jansen in 1974.
The star had friends from all over the showbiz world, including many that paid tribute to him when he died.
