Camden Toy died after a two-year journey with pancreatic cancer, his representatives confirmed in a press release.

Days before his death, his longtime partner, Bethany Henderson, opened up about his diagnosis on Facebook.

“He was diagnosed in February last year after months of mysterious pain. For many reasons we were very hopeful for, at least, a longer and more fruitful time on planet Earth. Even the more recent challenges felt more like a hiccup in progress. Unfortunately, it looks like we’ve reached the end of the road with the doctor’s treatments,” a Dec. 8 post from Henderson read.

Henderson added that Toy did not go public with his diagnosis “for many reasons,” adding that his condition had “declined a lot in the last 2 months and tremendously in the last several days.”

‘So, unfortunately, this may be new and shocking news to many of his fans. We both apologize for this and please know that he has appreciated you all so much, as have I!’ she said.

Camden Toy grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and took an interest in the film industry at an early age.

He moved to New York City where he was one of the founding members of the Nada Theatre.’

Toy ultimately moved to Los Angeles, where he quickly became a fan favorite on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, playing some of the show’s most iconic monsters.

He played The Gentleman in the show’s Emmy-nominated Season 4 episode Hush in 1999 and appeared in five episodes of the show’s seventh and final season.

He was so frequently in his heavy prosthetics for the show that star Sarah Michelle Gellar claimed she had never seen his actual face until a producer showed him a photo.

Toy played Gnarl in an early Season 7 episode and recurred as the Ubervamp in four more episodes that season.

He was also cast in the Buffy spin-off Angel playing a new character dubbed Prince of Lies.

Other roles include The Insider’s Guide to Film School, The Bay, Average Joe and a voice role on Call of Duty: Vanguard.

He also served as a film editor on Zen Noir and a number of short films and worked on the editing staff of other projects as well.
