According to The Bahamas Press Peetah Morgan suffered a stroke.
Morgan’s family said in a statement: ‘It is out of sincere love that we share that our beloved husband, father, son and brother and lead singer of Morgan Heritage, Peter Anthony Morgan, has ascended today, February 25.
‘Jah come and save us from ourselves because love is the only way.
‘Our family thanks you in advance for your overwhelming love and support and we ask for your continued prayers as we go through this process.
‘We also ask that you please respect our privacy during this time of healing.’

Born in 1977, Peter ‘Peetah’ Morgan was one of the 30 children of Denroy Morgan, a Jamaican Reggae artist who died in 2022. He had a hit song called “I’ll Do Anything For You” in 1981.
He and his siblings formed Morgan Heritage in 1994, and the band won a Grammy for best reggae album in 2016 for Strictly Roots.
One of his brothers, Roy ‘Gramps’ Morgan, moved to Tennessee, where he aimed to introduce Nashville to reggae.
‘If you follow reggae music and country music, it´s a lot of storytelling,’ Morgan told The Associated Press in 2018. ‘In reggae we tell the story of people suffering.’
The other siblings who helped found the band were Una Morgan, Nakhamyah ‘Lukes’ Morgan and Memmalatel ‘Mr. Mojo’ Morgan.

“Obviously, illness is a very private matter, and only a medical professional can accurately comment on the precise cause of death, but what I have gathered is that he had suffered a stroke and died in the States,” he said.
