The Forbes family on Tuesday released the memorial and funeral details of the late rap superstar, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes. The family acknowledged the outpouring love they have received so far from friends, family and supporters of the Fela In Versace hitmaker.

AKA was gunned down on Friday, February 10 in Durban after a night out with friends. He met up with a long time friend and former manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, who also unfortunately lost his life that same night.
Taking to his Instagram page, The Forbes family thanked the public for their love and support as they prepare to give AKA a proper send off.
“We as the Forbes family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love we have received over the past few days. Kiernan wasn’t just loved by us as a family but by the nation,” they wrote in part. They continued by saying they would like to celebrate his life with everyone who loved him.
Following confirmation from the family that Rapper AKA memorial service will be held on Friday at the Sandton Convention Centre at 15:00, a limited number of tickets were made available on WebTickets.
However, three hours thereafter the ‘sold out’ signs went up, such was the demand from the public to attend. Those who weren’t able to obtain tickets to attend, can follow the memorial service live , It starts at 3pm.

In addition to the public memorial, a private provincial funeral for AKA will be held on Saturday, 18 February 2023.
