Born on February 21, 1996, Sophie Belinda Turner is an English actress renowned for her portrayal of Sansa Stark in the HBO series Game of Thrones (2011-2019).
She was even nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019 for her role in the show.
Aside from her iconic role in Game of Thrones, Sophie Turner has appeared in several other projects. She made her feature film debut in the psychological thriller Another Me (2013) and played a part in the action comedy Barely Lethal (2015). Turner also portrayed Jean Grey/Phoenix in the X-Men film series (2016-2019) and was cast as Juliane Koepcke in the movie Girl Who Fell From the Sky in 2017.
Turner grew up in a large Edwardian house near Leamington Spa, where she enjoyed playing in the pigsties, barns, and paddock. Despite her busy filming schedule, Turner managed to achieve excellent grades, including five GCSE A-grades and four Bs, with a B in Drama.
Turner has also been active outside of her acting career. In the summer of 2016, she hosted Powershift, a web video series in partnership with the Huffington Post. She became the patron of Women for Women in March 2017, an organization that supports female war survivors. Turner also collaborated with Wella Hair in June 2017, becoming the brand’s first international ambassador.
In November 2017, Turner was cast in the movie Girl Who Fell From the Sky and was also attached to producing the film. She filmed the independent film Heavy in Toronto, Canada, in March and April 2018. Turner reprised her role as Jean Grey in the X-Men film Dark Phoenix, released in June 2019.
Turner has also been featured in print work for luxury designer brand Louis Vuitton. In September 2019, she was cast in the thriller television show Survive.
