The She-Hulk actor and Coigney first met in 1998 in Los Angeles. For Ruffalo, it was love at first sight, telling Men’s Journal, “I saw her and was like, I’m going to marry that girl.”
“All I had was my decency, wit, and charm – I didn’t have anything,” he said.
“When I met her, she was like, ‘You don’t have a driver’s license, you don’t have a credit card. What is wrong with you, dude? I can’t be with you!'”
“I was living in a converted garage, and she was there for that, she was game. She believed in me,” he said.
“She was like, ‘I know you’re a really good actor,’ and I was like, ‘Yo haven’t really seen me act yet.’ And she was like, ‘I just know it, I can tell.'”
After two years of dating, the couple got married on June 11, 2000.

Their oldest and only son, Keen, was born in June 2001. Four years later, they welcomed their first daughter, Bella Noche, in May 2005, followed by their second daughter, Odette, in October 2007.
He told Vanity Fair that all three of his children have dyslexia, and two have ADHD.
It was one of the reasons he and his wife, Sunrise, moved from their farmhouse in upstate New York back to New York City, so the children could go to a school with a strong program for dyslexia.
“I like those moments where you’re just chugging along and then, all of a sudden, your kids open up to you, and you have this deep conversation where they express their troubles — it’s hard for them, especially at that age,” Ruffalo told People.
“But my kids are way more savvy than I was, man. They’re so engaged in the world,” he added.
The family of five have been photographed together several times on the red carpet and at A-list events.
They most recently appeared alongside Ruffalo at his Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony and on red carpets promoting his newest film, Poor Things.
