MatPat born Matthew Robert Patrick is an American YouTuber and Internet personality. He is the creator of the YouTube series Game Theory, and its spin-off series Film Theory, Food Theory, and Style Theory, each analyzing various video games, films alongside TV series and web series, food, and fashion respectively.
Each of the different series are posted on individual channels, each named after the respective series. In addition to the creation of his channels, Patrick narrates the majority of the videos that are presented on his channels.
Patrick has also created the gaming channel GTLive and hosted the YouTube Premium series MatPat’s Game Lab and the 2023 Streamy Awards.
As of September 2023, Patrick has amassed over 40 million subscribers, as well as over 8 billion total views across all five of his channels.
On January 9, 2024, Patrick announced his retirement from hosting the channels on March 9, 2024, but will still make appearances on GTLive until the end of summer 2024.

Matthew Robert Patrick was born on November 15, 1986, in Medina, Ohio. He celebrated his 37th birthday in 2023.He was nicknamed “MatPat” by his friends in sixth grade. An only child, Patrick was interested in video games and theater.
He was the valedictorian of his high school and received an academic scholarship to Duke University, graduating in 2009 with a double major in theater and psychology with a concentration in neuroscience.
To fulfill his dream of becoming an actor, Patrick moved to New York after graduating and performed in theater productions to little success, spending two years unemployed. His first YouTube videos were auditions for stage plays.

MatPat is married to Stephanie Patrick, who is also known as cordy. The couple met when they were students at Duke University.
She plays a massive role in the production of The Game Theorists YouTube videos. On Instagram, where she has amassed a following of 249K, she describes herself as:
“The business half of Game Theory, Film Theory, Food Theory, and GTLive. Parent to company, cat and kid. My favorite tea is all of them.”
Stephanie Patrick holds the Instagram handle of cordypatrick, which is a combination of her maiden name Cordato, and her married name of Patrick.
The couple tied the knot on May 19, 2012.

MatPat and his wife Stephanie Patrick have a son named Oliver Patrick, who was born on July 9, 2018.
Game Theory fans were informed about MatPat and Stephanie Patrick’s son every step of the way. On April 29, the YouTubers asked fans to select a color for their son’s room.
After their son’s birth, they took to the internet to reveal that the delivery went well. The parents also created an Instagram account for their son. However, at the time of writing this article, no posts were published from the same.
Speaking about how the heavy-workload had affected his family life, Matthew revealed on YouTube:
“I don’t love the fact that Steph and I have been work-first for over a decade, where I’m sitting down to dinner with my best friend and we’re talking about business logistics.”
