Maxine Klibingaitis, the Australian actress known for her roles in popular television shows Prisoner and Neighbours, died ‘suddenly’ on Monday at the age of 58.
The tragic news of her death was announced by the Prisoner fan club Partners in Crime on Facebook.

Who was Maxine Klibingaitis?
Maxine was born in Ballarat, Victoria and was married to the Australian television director, Andrew Friedman, they have one son, Zane Friedman.
She is probably best known locally and internationally for her role as teen punk Bobbie Mitchell in the cult TV series Prisoner and as Terry Inglis, in Neighbours.
In 2007 she won the MUFF award for Best Supporting Female Actor for her role as an unhinged, diabetic punk woman in the film Moonlight & Magic.
Maxine appears in the first two Boronia Boys films, Boronia Boys and Boronia Backpackers, as local girl Caz.

Her death was announced on Facebook by the Prisoner fan club Partners in Crime.
The group said in a post: “Maxine Klibingatis 1964 – 2023.
“We regrettably announce that actress Maxine Klibingaitis has passed away today.
“Maxine played the much-loved character of Bobbie Mitchell in Prisoner, Terri Inglis in Neighbours and many other roles in Australian TV.
“Maxine was only 58. We send our sincere condolences to her son, Zane and Maxine’s family & friends. RIP Maxine.”
