Nadia Nakai, girlfriend of multi-award-winning musician and producer Kiernan ‘AKA’ Jarryd Forbes made her first public appearance since the death of the acclaimed rapper.
An atmosphere of sombre reflection dominated the family press conference held on Tuesday at Rockets in Bryanston in honor of the late rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes.

The rapper’s girlfriend Nadia Nakai made her first public appearance since the death of the acclaimed rapper. The Ragga Ragga hitmaker walked hand-in-hand with AKA’s mother Lynn Forbes, at the press briefing while in mourning clothes.
The singer wore a long black dress along with a black doek on her head. As Tony, AKA’s father, took to the podium to read out a statement, emotional scenes played out. Tony expressed his gratitude for the support they received following the tragic murder of the superstar.
“Kiernan wasn’t just loved by us as a family, his talent shone through and created its own community, known as the Megacy, which extends to the nation at large.
“The close friends that he has, have been at our side just like they have been with him, since Friday evening they have been at our side, supporting us,” said Tony.

Nadia Nakai was seen feeling emotional, and AKA’s mom comforted her. The family gave her a big hug as she was sobbing.

Rapper AKA Funeral and Memorial Service Details Announced
On Tuesday, the Forbes family released a statement on the late rapper’s social media accounts, announcing his memorial and funeral details. AKA will be laid to rest on Saturday at a private funeral service with his memorial being live-streamed on Friday on his AKA Worldwide YouTube channel.
The family revealed that DJ Zinhle’s husband Murdah Bongz, will not be attending the services, this is a result of cultural restrictions that need to be adhered to.
“We’d also like to acknowledge our extended family, the Mohosana’s for their unwavering support during this time, As Bongani Mohosana will be in absentia at the memorial and funeral due to observing cultural protocol.”
AKA’s father has also slammed the ongoing conspiracy theories surrounding the rapper’s death. This is after social media users accused Don Design of alleged;y being involved in the death of his friend and business partner.
“We do not condone what is being said about his friends and those making dangerous statements. We appeal to them to cease from doing so,” Forbes said
